Swimmers' success
Wednesday 3rd February 2010
Six swimmers from Alloa Academy competed at the prestigious Scottish Schools Swimming Gala, which was held in Tollcross Leisure Centre, Glasgow, on Saturday 30th January. All the swimmers were in the top 20 fastest times from their age group and Daniel Clark was in the top 10 for his age group - they were competing with swimmers from all over Scotland.
The standard was extremely high and the swimmers competed well and were a credit to their school and themselves. Their coaches on the day were Lisa Houston - Alloa A.S.C Head Coach and Anne Manson - Alloa Active Schools Co-ordinator. Both coaches commented about the fantastic effort and commitment shown on the day by the swimmers and that it was a pleasure to watch them swim. Results: Dorrotya Kovacs, 8th - 200m + 13th - 100m Breastroke, Joanna Petrie, 18th - 100m Backstroke, Lewis McIntrye, 11th - 100m Butterfly, Daniel Clark, 5th - 200m Backstroke + 6th - 100m Backstroke, Rebecca Hay, 4th - 50m Breastroke and Craig Douglas, 8th - 100m Backstroke.
Very well done to all of you.
